Adjust your Mac’s volume by tiny bits
Posted in Mac & OS XI came across a post recently that explained how you can set your Mac's volume to "ultra-quiet" via a combination of keyboard shortcuts. This sets the volume to a barely audible level. The problem of course is that it's barely audible. Here's a better way that allows you to set the volume to the optimal level for you.
